  • Item descriYour trip begins with a quick safety briefing at the dock/boat. Herman will walk you through the plan for the day and share Dene protocols for travelling on the water. From Yellowknife, we often depart through Yellowknife Bay with views of the houseboats, then travel past Dettah and along the nearby islands and shoreline south of Yellowknife. Herman will check in about your preferences—more time travelling, fishing, and/or time exploring on land (as conditions allow).ption

  • Day trips include guiding and required safety equipment (including life jackets/PFDs). Snacks, drinks, and a light lunch are included as described in the trip details. Fishing gear is provided when fishing is part of your trip.

  • Guests who plan to fish must purchase a valid Northwest Territories fishing license (territorial) before the trip. If your trip takes you into Thaidene Nëné National Park Reserve, you’ll need an additional federal fishing license.

    Please     bring a printed copy or a downloaded version on your phone.

  • Bring layered clothing (including a warm layer), a waterproof jacket/pants, sturdy footwear, sun/bug protection, sunglasses/hat, personal medications, and a phone/camera battery pack. Even if it feels warm in town, it’s cooler on the water and conditions can change quickly—layers matter.
