Frequently Asked Questions
-
Day Trips: That’s completely okay — day trips are suitable for all experience levels. We’ll start with a safety briefing, help you get comfortable with the boat, and check in along the way.
Two-Night Trips: You don’t need to be an expert, but two-night trips are a remote, off-grid camping experience. This trip is best for guests who are comfortable with boat travel and basic camp life (sleeping in a tent/canvas tent, an off-grid washroom setup, and no cell service). If you’re unsure, reach out — we’re happy to talk it through and help you decide if it’s a good fit. -
Weather on Tu Nedhé / Great Slave Lake can change quickly. Trips may be adjusted, delayed, rerouted, rescheduled, or cancelled based on wind, waves, visibility, smoke, or other conditions. Safety decisions are made by the guide. If conditions change, we’ll communicate clearly and work with you on next steps where possible.

Included: safety gear appropriate to the activity (including life jackets/PFDs for boat travel), satellite communication for check-ins/emergencies, and fishing equipment when fishing is part of the trip.
You bring: layered clothing (including a warm layer), waterproof jacket and pants, sturdy footwear, sun/bug protection, sunglasses and a hat, personal medications/toiletries, and a phone/camera battery pack.
Even if it feels warm in town, it’s cooler on the water and conditions can change quickly—layers and a windproof/waterproof outer layer are important.
Optional: a personal water bottle (if you prefer). -
